Step 2 - With Your Instructor

You can plan and review your take action workshops and the 10 Tips to Save the Ocean. By following these guidelines, you’ll learn how to: be Ocean AWARE, to respect marine wildlife, become an Eco-Tourist, engage in responsible imagery to inspire others, and become an ocean steward to ensure its health and vitality for future generations.

  • Prerequisites: Any age, any diving experience level (including none), and any person anywhere, can take this course, you only need a passion for saving the ocean and protecting the underwater world.
  • Total time commitment: 1-3 hours
  • Minimum age: No minimum age

PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialist Course Prerequisites

Anyone who has an interest in the aquatic world can take this course. There are no prerequisites or age restrictions and no water sessions are required to earn this non-diving certification.

Course Medical Requirements

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Avoid disappointment, download and review the Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course. Instructors, divemasters and dive shop staff are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.
